One of my colleagues is pregnant and I offered to knit her baby something.
She chose the Moss Stitch Throw from a book I'd bought in Dublin. We substituted yarn and even though we chose an equivalent weight, the blanket came out twice the size the pattern said. That was actually a good thing, because the winter is cold this year and the blanket can now be doubled for extra warmth.
I chose to knit the border log cabin style instead of intarsia as specified in the pattern to make it more visually even.
I finished the blanket just in time before the colleague left for maternity leave.
