Tour de France 2016 starts on Saturday, July 2nd and ends Sunday, July 24th. Tour de Fleece will run along the same time with the same rest days (Monday, July 11th and Tuesday, July 19th) and challenge days (Saturday, July 9th and Sunday, July 17th).
This year I have two goals:
- Spin at least 20 minutes every day.
- Spin every draft in Craftsy class From Worsted to Woolen.
I've been enrolled for a while now, but only tried out a few drafts so far. I decided it was time to do them all.
I prepared one colour for each draft in the prep it was demonstrated with. (One of the rolags was investigated by Sona, that's why it is pulled out of shape a bit.) I used hand cards to make the rolags, and combed all the rest of the colours to get rid of the short bits in the commercial top.
As time permits or when I need a break from the class, I plan to spin some braids. How many, depends on how much time and energy I have.
I decided to start with this one. It is from Spunky Eclectic February 2014 Fibre Club – Acorns (via Ravelry destash). The plan is to spin it as a 2-ply fractal.
If I finish Acorns in good time, this braid will be next. BFL wool by Woolgatherings. The plan is to divide it into three pieces and do a gimp, a crepe, and a cable mini skein. If I finish all of the above and there is still time left, I have plenty more wool to choose from to keep on spinning.
