Sometimes it's the little things one keeps putting off doing, and sometimes it's the big things. I'd been procrastinating on a few little things for a while, and apparently this vacation was the right time to stop procrastinating.
Little thing #1:
New shower head with holder bar. This one was being put off since I removed the broken one after moving in. The old hand held shower head worked fine until the heat wave this summer when I simply couldn't face taking a bath, and it got annoying not being able to stand under the shower.
I bought a bar that was adjustable and used the existing holes in the wall. Cold showers during the heat wave. Bliss...
Little thing #2:
Removing the Christmas lamps from the window. I'd been planning that for a few months, but didn't get around to it until I needed to find a new place for the lanterns from the bathroom. This is temporary until I figure out what kind of lighting I want at the window that I can change around without too much fuss when I want a change. Or when I get tired of the lanterns. Whichever happens first.
Little thing #3:
The ceiling lamp in the kitchen/office. It was reported broken by the previous owner during the sale, so someone besides me has been procrastinating on that too. It took an electrician 5 minutes to fix. Apparently the person who installed the light switch did it wrong because they didn't know how to properly connect the 1938 cable. It's amazing how much light a 40W (equivalent, I use halogens until LED bulbs catch up) bulb gives. Now I just have to remember to use it.
