Today is 100th birth day anniversary of my paternal grandmother.

She was the "Town granny", meaning that she lived in the same town with us. Mom's parents lived at countryside far away. She babysat us, played with us, told us stories and taught us many things. Her patience with us must have been incredible.

My grandfather had been taken to Siberia and never came back. She raised her two kids alone during difficult post-war times and was always there when mom and dad needed her.

When my aunt was giving away granny's things last year I got some of the towels she had woven and embroidered. They will be treasured, as are the memories I have of her.

On 8th of April there will be 18 years since she died.

I still miss her.
