There are still no news and I'm getting worried. Also, I'm still not completely well yet — the cough lingers and I get tired very quickly.

There has been knitting, sock knitting, to be precise. I've dubbed it Boring Brown Sock, because it's very simple. I needed something easy and mindless to do when I was well enough to hold the needles. There are no guarantees that I'll actually finish this one or make a mate.

Before beginning the sock I listened to audio books on my iPod. When you're too sick to do anything, but your mind demands to be entertained, the audio books and the iPod come in really handy.

I still can't tell you what I hinted at last week, but fortunately there is something else to write about.

Last Saturday we had a picnic at Drottningholm with a few friends. Drottningholm is the castle the Swedish royal family lives at, all the parks are open to the public when the king is not home. Last Saturday he was so some areas were roped off, but the grounds are big enough for everybody.

This time I made sure I had the camera with me. First we ate some and enjoyed the company of a couple of ducks.

Then we went around, looked at the castle and the parks.

The day was sunny and beautiful, we had lots of fun going there and hanging out with our friends. The only downside is that I caught cold and have been out of the action since. It is getting better now, my head is not so clogged and I can actually think again.

Nothing to see here, move along.

Nothing that I can talk about, anyway. Please come back next Wednesday, I will definitely have something to write about then.

Mao with water

I will leave you with Mao at his favorite game: water.

I was a bit under the weather yesterday, hence no post. After sleeping most of the day and the whole night I'm fine now.

On Tuesday R called from work and said that he has to go to his old school to pick up his grades for University application and would I like to come with him. I said I would and we met at the subway station. I didn't expect us to go anywhere else so I didn't take my camera with me. That turned out to be a serious mistake because we did go somewhere else and saw some beautiful views and incredibly cute ducklings.

The somewhere else is called Hammarby Sjöstad and is a brand new suburb of Stockholm. The site is in Swedish, but you'll at least can see the path near the water we walked on. Only a part of it is finished and I think it will be one of the most prestigious parts of city to live in, after the city center. Interesting architecture, lots of water, very green and nature friendly — all that made me want to live there. It would not be cheap to buy an apartment there and the 'feel' of the 'burb has not fully developed yet, it is so new. Felt friendly, fresh and young now. All-in-all, a definite possibility for our future home.

There is nothing new in knitting, job search or school application. Boring, I know.

I have finished the Little Arrowhead Lace Socks. I almost ran out of yarn on the second sock too. Unfortunately there is no picture today 'cause I forgot to take it while it was light outside.

The secound round of Six Sox Knitalong has begun. The new sock is something I would like to make. However, I should proceed on the Landsknecht stockings instead of casting on new stuff.
