Tomorrow we are flying to Estonia for a week long wacation. After that we'll go to R's mom's place. There will be pictures when we return on 2nd of August.

Have a nice summer!

Six Sox Knitalong has unveiled the new pattern Making Waves and it's fabulous! I have the perfect blue Regia Ringel yarn for it but no needles. Why oh why did I have to leave my 2,25 mm needles to Estonia?!

I can't start on this sock and I've hurt my right wrist knitting the Landsknecht hose. Therefore I must of course begin another project.

We need a new bathroom rug so I decided to pick up my crochet hooks again. I had some bulky acrylic left over from a Crochet Partners Millenium Friendship square exchange. Thick is better 'cause that tile floor is cold.

I'm going to crochet nine of these or as many as I can before I'll run out of the navy blue yarn. If I run out I have to reconsider my color options, but I'll come up with something.

Woohoo! I have received the first Nordic secret friend package!

First Nordic secret friend package

I couldn't wait to see what it contained so I opened it before I remembered to take a picture.

This bounty was inside:

A ball of Opal sockyarn and two balls of Fortissima Colori Socka Color. I love to knit socks and I love colorful socks. It will be very exiting to find out how these yarns look when knit up. Thank you Dorthe! They are beautiful!

I spent the weekend spindle spinning. I decided not to send the blue two-ply I had planned to send to the secret friend. I spun another yarn instead, three-ply this time. The new yarn is finished and drying in the bathroom right now. Tomorrow I'll go to the post office and send the package.

This is the yarn I was spinning for the exchange first. It is also my first try at Andean plying.

100% Estonian wool, 12 wpi, 8 tpi, two-ply.

Hi! I'm back! Robin Hobb is a brilliant writer, the whole story (The Farseer, The Liveship Traders and The Tawny Man) is excellently told. If you can put up with the main charcter (Fitz) being stupid and whiney all the time, it is a very enjoyable read. Fortunately he doesn't figure in The Liveship Traders trilogy and it is my favorite of the three trilogies.

Between reading I have sneaked in a little bit of knitting and spinning. I have begun the leg decreases on the Landsknecht hose, there will be 2 less stitches to knit every 8th round. The spinning is for Nordic secret friends exchange and can't be revealed just yet.

Yesterday R took me for a walk on Longholmen. It used to be a prison island, but it is a beautiful park now. The prison complex itself has been converted to a hotel.

I used the opportunity to further get to know my camera, this time the subject was water.

As you can see the different modes are not different at all when it comes to water.

I will leave you with two summer sights of Stockholm.
